Four paws padded silently through the outskirts of the quiet village outskirts. A pair of dark brown eyes glinted in the pale moonlight as Ryiah made her way towards the den of a loyal supporter of the Resistance. With a quick glance over one shoulder to see if she was being watched she entered. Before her lay the cozy home of one of her close friends, a young Collie named Belle.
“Belle?” She called in a whisper. “Belle, are you here?”She turned quickly to her left as paw steps echoed through the house. She sighed with relief as she caught sight of Belle’s familiar golden coat.
“Ryiah, what brings you here at this late hour? You know the guards have set a curfew, you could be killed.” Belle said in concern, head cocked questioningly to one side.
“This is much to important to wait for daylight. Belle, you must listen to me. You are in danger, all those who do not support Agro are in danger. You must flee, find a hiding place. Do not, I repeat, do not, come out for anything. Take food and water with you if you must, but get out of sight. If the guards find you, you will certainly be killed. Tell everyone you know who still supports Aspen, take them with you if you can. Its important you stay hidden.” Ryiah breathed desperately. Concern bright in her steady gaze.
Confusion filled Belle’s face as Ryiah. Then after a moment she sighed. “Very well Ryiah, I will do as you ask. I know you would not be asking this of me if you didn’t have good reason. I will find others. Go now, if you are found here, we will both be in danger.” As Ryiah turned to leave, Belle stopped her. “Remember Ryiah, I trust you, and so do many others.” Ryaih nodded and walked back out into the night air.
